We are renovating our kitchen and the refrigerator will be free standing between a partial wall and pantry door. We only have room for 36" wide refrigerator and it doesn't need to be counter depth (as it's free standing), so I have been searching without luck for a standard depth panel ready option. We are a family of 4 so I really don't think counter depth would be large enough for our needs and I can't go wider. It appears as though the side panels on my cabinets are too short. I would like to acheive the look in the 3rd pic. We are still in the middle if the cabinet installation. I'm replacing a regular dishwasher with a Fisher & Paykel tall dish drawer. How do i retrofit the cavity to support the dish drawer? Has anyone used a macerating toilet in a basement bathroom - and can you share your experience? Especially interested if you have tied in a shower and sink with it. Reading online indicates this is all possible - and would be a more cost-effective approach than breaking through the concrete slab to put in an ejector pump. Local builders do not seem to be too famliar with it - and it does seem like the type of thing that if something goes wrong, it could go really wrong.


Would appreciate any thoughts, advice, input, and especially lived experience.

I am shopping for a new 30 inch gas range, and am looking at BlueStar Nova series and Platinum series. There is a substantial price difference between the two, with the Nova series being over $1000 cheaper, but it has a lower highest BTU, at 22k. I do a lot of wok cooking -- kind of main type of cooking I do. So it certainly makes sense to go with the highest, but I am wondering if the 3000 BTU difference is actually noticeable. If not, I'd rather save the $1000+ difference and use it to buy a strong range hood. Thanks! 138BET

Hello, I am building a new house and would like to choose two Gaggenau ovens that will give me the most versatility and cover most of my needs. I am leaning towards a steam combination oven and a standard convection oven, but I worry I might miss the convenience of a microwave. Another alternative would be to pair the microwave-convection combi with the steam-oven combi and simply use the convection function in these for my regular oven needs. If you could only have two ovens, which two ovens would you choose and why? 138BET

We are considering either a bluestar or monogram 30" range. We cannot get any larger due to space constraints (trust me we tried). My husband has worked in commercial kitchens for decades, and really likes the bluestar btus and open burners, but...we have heard some real horror stories about bluestar failures. Please advise if you have experience with either of these appliances. 138BET
