Indonesia is known as a maritime country with fishery commodities such as seawater, freshwater and brackish water fish. Fisheries in Indonesia are the choice of cultivators, one of which is because it has business prospects that have high economic value. In Indonesia, freshwater fish farming contributes 1.1 million tons and the rest is brackish and marine ponds. In the culture process, feed is something that needs to be considered, such as the intensity of feeding to the selection of the right and nutritious type of feed to maintain the survival and growth of fish. The food eaten by fish is used for survival and growth.
Types of feed are divided into two, namely
natural feed and artificial feed. Natural food consists of phytoplankton and zooplankton. Natural feed has a high fiber content which is generally good for the digestion of fish/shrimp. Natural feed has an important role in the fish farming chain, especially in hatcheries. While artificial feed is made from a mixture of natural ingredients and artificial ingredients that contain nutrients which are then processed and shaped. Artificial feed has an important factor in fish culture, especially in the nursery and rearing process.
