Bought a Maytag (owned by Whirlpool) dishwasher through Home Depot that worked once and then started leaking. Reached out to Home Depot and they indicated they had no responsibility after 48 hours. Contacted Whirlpool and they sent a rapairman out who verfied that it was defective but he could not authorise replacement since it was repairable and he would order the part. Was informed today that the part was not availablle and to contact Whirlpool. Did so and they informed me I would have to wait 14 days and then we would “go from there”! Obviously one should not do bussiness with either of these companies but is there any recourse other than treating it as sunk cost and buying a dishwasher elsewhere?
